Mr. Ed Chariker is a proud member of the Saluda High School Class of 1985.  He received his undergraduate degree from Newberry College and two Master's degrees from Southern Wesleyan University in Education and Administration and Supervision.  He has served in many different capacities for Saluda County.  

He began his teaching career at Saluda High School in 2001 as a physical education teacher.  In 2006, he transitioned to Saluda Middle School to become their P.E. teacher.  In 2013, he moved to Saluda Elementary/Primary School as their P.E. teacher.  In 2021, he returned to Saluda High School to become their P.E. Coach, as well as, Assistant Athletic Director.  Mr. Chariker is extremely grateful and proud to serve as Saluda's Director for the Opportunity Academy and Adult Education for the upcoming 2023/2024 school year.  During his educational journey, Mr. Chariker has been a coach for Varsity Football, JV Football, Middle School Head Football Coach, Boys JV  Basketball Head Coach, Boy's Tennis, and Boy's & Girl's Varsity Track.

Mr. Chariker is very thankful to serve the community that he has been a part of for a great portion of his life.  He looks forward to serving people from this community, in any capacity, to help them become more successful in life.
